Do we have to file a tax return?

My husband is 66 years and I am 65. Our only income is Social Security. Unlimited stocks, etc. no other income. Also at what age can you stop filing tax forms? We live in Texas.

Not if the only Social Security income, you do not have to file a federal return. But only this year if there was long distance service on your phone at any time between March 2003 and 06 July, must file a Form 1040EZ-T to obtain a refund telephone excise taxes. The form is short and easy, and bring you $ 40. You can download a copy at irs.gov or pick one up at your local library.
