Why should we all suffer because others like to play the stock market?
When we look at the mess Wall Steet created is it fair that the rest of us who knows it is a scam to suffer? Too big to fail should equal too big to be legal. If you want to invest in a business fine, but why do we need wall street to create all these derivatives and speculation? The ones that contributed to this mess are the only ones who should have to pay a penalty. Because of this now the rest of us have to suffer.
The actual stock market that people have 401k, IRA’s, their retirement in hopes of having something besides S.S. to live on. This is were most working people have a bit of savings. FM&FM backed by the big-gins like Goldman sachs who gave Obama a boat load of money to get elected. Now he wants to create a “Bailout Fund” of 50 Billion. Why not let Banks who make lousy loans go down. Obama is doing nothing but opening Pandora’s box for more corruption because those who lose will get a bailout. Even the little people that have loans they can not afford. This is soooo stupid. It is a show and Politically motivated.
Ironically, at the same time the SEC is seeking justice for Goldman’s alleged victims, President Obama and Senate Banking Committee Chairman Chris Dodd (D-Conn.) are pushing a bill would reward the firm with potentially billions of dollars by instituting a so-called “resolution authority” that would, in practice, be a permanent bailout fund.
