The basic rule is that stocks are strong and metals (gold) is low, and when stocks are low – the metals are strong. Why Why? Inventories are an intangible, which means you can not have on hand – is paper. Gold and other metals are strong – do not relate to the value of a company or group of companies (mutual funds)
