American Capital Stocks

What is the future of American automobile industry?
Ok. Looking at most serious investors, american auto stocks are being avoided like a plague( GM and Ford Motor Co). So lack of capital for these guys means no products. Does this mean investors need to invest in European auto makers? The market is slowly chocking the American dream of Owning a 100% made in america ride. I’m a begginer in stocks and everyone tells me to dump GM and Ford stocks, which ones should I buy? Help please!
First of all… there is no such thing as a “100% made in America ride” anymore.
The future for the American auto industry is not good. Consumer confidence has been shaken with the quick increase in fuel costs. This will most likely affect the purchasing behavior for several years. I expect both companies to slip a little more but ultimately GM looks to be in a better position currently.
My suggestion for you since you are beginning in the stocks… learn to read company financial reports. That will help a lot. Then read up on who runs the company and roll your dice…
